Interview with Jeffrey Snover

Check out this video shot a couple of weeks ago at TechEd Europe in Berlin.

In a break between the sessions, we sat together with Jeffrey to discuss what excited him the most at the conference, the state of PowerShell today, adoption of PowerShell at Microsoft and across the industry, his new role as Lead Architect for Windows Server, and the future directions of PowerShell and Windows Server manageability.

Jeffrey was incredibly careful not to share any confidential information about specific features in the next versions of PowerShell or Windows Server, but he did talk about the general directions and philosophy. Check it out!

PowerShell Dinner at TechEd Europe

Aleksandar has just posted the pictures he took at the PowerShell community dinner in Berlin on November 11.

PowerShell Dinners are amazingly fun community events we have more or less at each major Microsoft conference and which gather members of the PowerShell team at Microsoft, MVPs, vendors in the PowerShell ecosystem, and just active members of the PowerShell community.

Unfortunately, this year not everyone could make it to TechEd. However, still, chances are that this photo album will show you a few faces behind the names you come across every day of your PowerShell life. 🙂

TechEd South Africa session on PowerGUI

If you are attending TechEd in Durban in a couple of weeks make sure you see Nicolas Blank delivering his UNC304 session:

PowerShell and Unified Communications: Taking the Mystery out of AD, Exchange and OCS Management using PowerShell (UNC304)

PowerShell is wonderful – if you know where to start or how to use it! This session will cover how to get started with PowerShell as well as moving into advanced areas of Exchange and OCS management with PowerShell. We will cover common management and migration scenarios where PowerShell can add value, learning how to run “one liners” that can “change the world” as well as using the Power of PowerShell in PowerGUI in order to have the best of both worlds – PowerShell flexibility and GUI management and much much more.

UNC304 | Mon 3 Aug (12:00 – 13:00) | 300 – Advanced| Session Room B1 | Speaker: Nicolas Blank | Breakout Session

Nicolas is an Exchange MVP and Unified Communications guru. He was one of the first guys who started using PowerShell to manage Exchange 2003 back in 2007. This year he is delivering 4 TechEd sessions! Quite an achievement. Congratulations to Nicolas and make sure you see him if you are at the show.

PowerShell Dinner at TechEd 2009

Here are the pictures from yesterday’s PowerShell Dinner we had at TechEd (courtesy of Ibrahim). The dinner was a great event with the key members of the Microsoft PowerShell team, PowerShell partners (Compellent, Global Knowledge, /n Software, Quest, Sapien, SpecOps), PowerShellCommunity.org, Scripting Center, and PowerShell MVPs.

To me, these dinners are a highlight of every major conference and a great place to discuss where PowerShell is going with like-minded geeks. See the whole album here and join us at the next event!
