Kirk has published version 2.1.5 of PowerGUI’s VMware PowerPack.
The biggest new feature is ability to create a Visio diagram for any part of your infrastructure:
This is based on Alan’s earlier Visio scripts enhanced by Kirk. Great example of community collaboration!
Read more about the update in Alan’s and Kirk’s blogs, get the updated pack here.

Can you please explain how to make this all work with Visio? thanks-
Mark,
1. Install: PowerShell, PowerCLI (VMWare’s PowerShell library) and PowerGUI from http:/powergui.org (or VESI from http://theVESI.org).
2. If you are using PowerGUI, download and import the PowerPack: http://www.powergui.org/entry.jspa?externalID=1802&categoryID=290
3. Enable vDiagram:
a. Download the VESI_Visio.zip file that is attached to the PowerPack page: http://www.powergui.org/entry.jspa?externalID=1802&categoryID=290
b. If you agree to abide by the enclosed Legal Agreement document, extract the VESI_Visio.vss file into your ‘My Shapes’ folder. This can be found by entering the following string in PowerShell: “$([System.Environment]::GetFolderPath(‘MyDocuments’))\My Shapes”.
4. In PowerGUI, browse to your datacenter or cluster and click the vDiagram action in the right-hand pane.
If you have any problems or further questions, please post them to our virtualization forum: http://www.powergui.org/forum.jspa?forumID=853

I’ve followed the instructions but the VirtualizationVisioStencil.zip links dont work, keeps throwing me to the powerpack. Am I missing something?
Oops, looks like this text is a little outdated. The stencil is now shipped with the PowerPack.
Just download the PowerPack and install it in PowerGUI Admin Console.
Then in PowerGUI, when you click on the action to create a VDiagram, the stencil is installed in the right location if it is not there already.
PowerGUI doesnt seem to work with the new version of VMWAREpowerCLI. It wants the older version 4.x and I have version 6.x. Any ideas to make this work with the newer version? Thanks.
Saganhill,
Yes, current version 2.3 shipped with outdated VMware PowerPack. You can manually download and install the new one from here:
http://poshoholic.com/2011/01/10/vmware-vsphere-powerpack-beta-now-with-powercli-4-1-and-later-support/
Or install *beta* of PowerGUI 3.0 which has newer PowerPack: http://poshoholic.com/2011/05/17/try-the-powergui-pro-3-0-beta-today/
