IT Forum Speaker Idol starts

Just got an email from Debbie McMahon saying that their site for this year Speaker Idol at TechEd IT Forum (in Barcelona, in November) is up and running at:

Basically this is an open contest which allows anyone to come up and do a mini-session for 5 minutes or so.

Last year I participated in the contest and this was the first time I publicly presented the idea of PowerGUI which we were only starting at the time.

The contest was a lot of fun. The audience which was very receptive, the comments from the jury were useful, and more importantly watching what other contesters were doing and learning from them was a great mutual learning opportunity for all of us.

I was pretty encouraged with the contest and here I am now with PowerGUI I was demoing back then now becoming real and myself having presented real sessions on PowerShell at Microsoft Management Summit, Longhorn RDP Airlift, and TechEd US, as well as maintaining this fairly active PowerBlog and Quite a boost from one event!

Also, as the first runner-up I got free ticket to IT Forum 2007 – which is a pretty good value!

So the bottom line is: get a PowerShell topic you like and sign-up for the contest!
